This Sterling Silver and black Topaz statement pendant necklace is hand made, inspired by stormy days on the Cornish coast and finding beauty in amongst the 'grey.'
The unique design features a beautiful Black, rose cut, freeform Topaz, along with the recognisable Stormy Seas design.
The Topaz is set in a bezel style with an open back. The beautiful gemstone measures aprox 1.2cm tall by 1cm at its widest point. It forms the base of the pendant design.
The Stormy Seas dome is at the centre of the angular shaped design and measures 17mm wide. The inside of the dome has been treated with an oxidising treatment to blacken it, which has been lightly polished. The polishing process removes some of the colour and also gives it a sheen that changes the intensity of colour - depending on which direction you look at it, it looks various shades of grey and black, just like a stormy sky! Half of the concave dome is then textured again, small sections of the blackened, polished surface are hand engraved to reveal the silver - it's this that is representative of the ferocious sea. The edge of the dome is flat, front facing and have been polished for contrast against the blackened insides.
The overall pendant is aprox 4.6cm tall and 1.8cm wide.
The pendant is finished, front and back with a brushed finish. It comes presented on a Belcher style chain, length of your choice, working equally as well worn as a long for shorter length pendant.
This unique design would make a great gift for anyone drawn to the coast and the sea, or who perhaps needs a little reminder that beauty can be found on the greyest of days... It would complement so many looks and transition perfectly from day to night!
