This is a custom order for RH, reshaping an antique Silver spoon.
The work will straighten the neck and handle, reshape the bowl and polish the spoon.
The spoon will be annealed to enable manual reshaping. Firestain will be avoided as much as possible but is a risk that's accepted (albeit will be mitigated with the use of flux). The hallmark gives some reassurance of the finesse of the metal and so will be treated as Sterling Silver. However considering the age and unknown origins, caution will be applied and an understanding of the associated risks accepted.
The bowl will be reshaped without a spoon mould, and instead by eye, using doming punches.
The spoon will be cleaned and polished carefully, however scratches will not be removed as they tell a story. The polishing around the engraving and hallmark will be lighter to avoid damaging the delicate and already worn details.
