These Sterling Silver cufflinks are inspired by stormy days on the Cornish coast and finding beauty in amongst the 'grey.'
These contemporary cufflinks are are formed of discs of sterling silver that have been shaped in to domes. Each dome measures aprox 1.7cm (17mm) at it's widest/tallest point. The depth of the dome is aprox 0.4cm (4mm).
The inside of the domes have been treated with an oxidising treatment to blacken it, which has been lightly polished. The polishing process removes some of the colour and also gives it a sheen that changes the intensity of colour - depending on which direction you look at it, it looks various shades of grey and black, just like a stormy sky! Half of each concave dome is then textured again and small sections of the blackened, polished surface are hand engraved to reveal the silver - it's this that is representative of the ferocious sea. The edge of the domes are flat, front facing and have been polished for contrast against the blackened insides.
These are fixed back cufflinks, with no movement in the arm. The dome is attached to a fixed post, made from Sterling Silver that will thread through the button hole. At the other end, there is a smaller disc. This disc has been left flat, with a brushed texture and can be personalised with up to 3 letters on each one at a small additional cost. The fixed post is 0.3cm (3mm) wide and 0.9 (9mm) long. The smaller, flat disc is 0.8cm (8mm) wide. The back of the dome, fixed post and smaller disc have all been finished with a brushed texture.

They would make a great gift for grooms on your wedding day but also provide a great opportunity to coordinate the whole wedding party as gifts for Best Men, Groomsmen and Fathers. Such a thoughtful gift for retirements, special birthdays, graduations or Christmas, A wonderful special keepsake that can be worn again and again and will never go out of style! The backs of these cufflinks can also be personalised with hand stamped initials to make them a truly personal, one of a kind gift.
These cufflinks form part of a wider collection, with matching items available.
* Hand stamping is created by the blow of a hammer on steel letter and number punches. It’s not as precise as engraving and so irregularities and variations in the text are to be expected. Letters may not always be perfectly aligned and some letters may strike deeper than others. This is part of the charm of these designs and makes your jewellery uniquely yours.
