Sometimes, I see a gemstone and immediately see a picture within it and that's exactly what happened with this beautiful blue Lace Agate. It immediately took me to rippling waves washing the shoreline. The stone has beautiful natural banding in differing shades of blue in an organic waved shape pattern. I saw those waves, lapping the shore, carrying the tiniest of delicate bubbles that get stranded on the wet sand.
The stone, which is ever so slightly an elongated oval shape has been encased in silver in chunky bezel style setting, measuring 3.9cm (39mm) x 2.1cm (21mm). The outer edges and back of the setting have been finished with a dimpled texture. The pendant hangs on a double strand belcher style chain measuring 18 inches. The chain is threaded through a chunky tube style bail.
In this case, the setting that the stone sits in and chain is purely a frame, that outlines a picture that I saw in my mind - wearable artwork in many ways!!
The necklace has a full UK hallmark, including my own makers mark.
Agate stones come in many colours with naturally formed patterns, each unique, each one of a kind, however all are said to enhance creativity, intellect and improve self-confidence.
